new beginnings

in order to keep folks up to date on my life in madrid, voy a empezar a blog again.

todo va a ser written en espangles, probablamente.

i arrived this morning at 10am, 1am pacific time and caught a taxi with the help of my program leaders to the hotel husa princesa. a fancier hotel than i've ever been in.

...here i met several folks who are on the program with me. then i went to the american embassy para usar su free wi-fi

i promise not to come here often, but internet is expensive here.

madrid is beautiful and reminds me a bit of san francisco, but without the hills. i can tell already i'll be at home here.

i have yet to call family and such but i may go trolling for a pay phone soon, as i don't have skype credit yet.

so this is the beginning of my journey. i'll stay at the hotel tonight and tomorrow unir con mi host madre and get settled in my new home. in about 20 minutes voy a salir al mall y otros lugares for tapas and to buy a cell phone.

ps. this starbucks definitely had the nastiest baño i've ever used. yay!

some stuffs

these are things that are happening in the life of the blogger:

1. the vagina monologues: i'm in it. performing tonight, thursday, and friday. this is weird. i don't act.
2. i have a radio show on my college's radio station, KUPS "the sound." it's at 8am on fridays. you should go to kups.ups.edu and get the webcast, then record my show and listen to it when it's not that ungodly hour. there's some other good stuff on there too.
3. no complaints about the upcoming valentine's day.
4. yes, eric, i've been keeping up with dog damnit. you guys make me giggle. and sometimes i pee a little. i'm getting this looked at by a physician.
